Every New BLOCK In Caves & Cliffs (so far) Rated Out of 10!

Every block coming in 1.17 rated out of 10! Let's go!

Powdered Snow - I can't believe Mojang finally added milk blocks to Minecraft! So realistic, you can even freeze to death in it! A fun little trap block, but can be mined out of almost instantly. 6/10.

Rooted Dirt - It's dirt, 10/10! Just kidding. If dirt is 2/10, rooted dirt is 2.5/10.

Dripstone Block - Not a fan of the texture, will never use in a build. 3/10.

Pointed Dripstone - A block that wants to kill you! Awesome! These make for some really awesome looking builds and look incredible in caves. 9/10.

Deepslate - Man, caves made out of this stuff are awesome! I wish it was called Deepstone though. 8/10.

Tuff - I think this block is just trying to look bad. Also, I heard diorite, andesite and granite are extremely useful so why not add another new blob-formation stone to the mix? 2/10.

Copper Ore - I bloody love how funky this ore block looks! A really great-looking ore block. Not affecting the rating, but I wish copper had more uses. 7/10.

Deepslate Diamond - The cyan really pops out of the deepslate texture! 8/10.

Deepslate Gold - Not the biggest fan of the new gold texture. 5.5/10.

Deepslate Iron - It's alright. 6/10.

Deepslate Lapis - Again, another cool deepslate ore block. 6.5/10.

Deepslate Redstone - I LOVE the new redstone, and it looks even better in deepslate! 8/10.

Block of Amethyst - One of my favourite blocks in the update. I just had to find a geode and make a room out of amethyst blocks! I love the texture and I love the sounds these blocks make when you walk on them! Best block of the update. 10/10.

Budding Amethyst - I'd never make a room out of this (can't anyway) because of the X's. But new amethyst buds sprout out of this block. They look absolutely incredible when fully covered with amethyst, though! 9/10.

Amethyst Cluster - LOVE!!!!!! 10/10.

Calcite - An interesting, new white stone type. It's pretty cool but I'd probably not make anything out of it. It's alright though. 5/10.

Smooth Basalt - This block looks incredible. It doesn't really do anything but honestly I cannot get enough of this block. One of the best-looking stone types ever added. 9/10.

Azalea/Flowering Azalea - Interesting new plant type. Love the magenta flowers. 7.5/10.

Cave Vines - The glowberries are a nice light source, but the vines themselves aren't too special. 6/10.

Hanging Roots - Really just there for ambience, doesn't really do anything. 4/10.

Moss Block - I know everyone loves this block, but I honestly don't really care for it. Green is not my favourite colour and it doesn't really do anything. Building with this block would be impractical too, as it is so fragile. 3/10.

Dripleaf - A really amazing mechanic, and it looks really cool in the setting of a lush cave. Great block. 10/10.

Small Dripleaf - It doesn't really do anything, it looks a bit strange too. Not sure I'd want this in my garden. 4.5/10.

Spore Blossom - The area-of-effect particle effects this block gives off really add to the ambience of the lush cave. The block itself isn't too special, but man I love the particles. 7/10.

Glow Lichen - A nice new natural light-source to light up the cave. My only problem is it only gives off a very dim light. I feel its light level should be boosted by a couple of light levels, maybe from 7 to 9. I do like how it can be waterlogged and be placed on any block though. 6/10.

Chiseled Deepslate - I love all the varieties of deepslate, and this is no exception. 9/10.

Cobbled Deepslate - It's deepslate but on all sides! 8.5/10.

Deepslate Bricks - Dear Mojang: PLEASE make sub-y0 strongholds be made of deepslate bricks! Thanks! 8.5/10.

Cracked Deepslate Bricks - See, this is just BEGGING!!!! for deepslate strongholds! 7.5/10.

Deepslate Tiles - Whoa. 9/10.

Cracked Deepslate Tiles - Oof. 7/10.

Polished Deepslate - Man they really went the extra mile with these deepslate variants. 7.5/10.

Tinted Glass - Overly expensive, useless. Worst block of the update. 1.5/10.

Block of Copper - No, I am not going to do all the weathered states individually, we'd be here all day. So I will just say, it's incredible this block can weather. 7/10.

Copper Stairs - It's like the block of copper, but it's stairs! 6.5/10.

Cut Copper - I love the texture of this even more than the regular copper block! 8/10.

Cut Copper Stairs - " " stairs, 7.5/10. But the Lightly Weathered Waxed Cut Copper whatever gets an 11/10 for its name.

Raw Copper Block - Took a few goes, but I think they finally hit on a decent texture for this block. A cool storage block, too. 5/10.

Raw Iron Block - Not a fan of this one. 4/10.

Raw Gold Block - BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEANS/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE BEANS!!!! BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE THEY?????? BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (6/10. It would be a lot lower but the meme potential of this block is just too good).

Candle - The light source we all never knew we needed. Honestly, I absolutely love this addition! 9.5/10.

Lightning Rod - This block is enlightening! It has potential to do a lot more than it does, though. I just wish it had more redstone uses. 7.5/10.

Glow Item Frame - Honestly, I am never going to use this. If I have an item frame in a house, the house is already lit to prevent mobs from spawning. A ploy to try and make the glow squid in any way useful, but not one I'll ever use. 2/10.

Sculk Sensor - The redstone possibilities with this block are INSANE. This block is unlike anything we've ever had, and is really fun to play around with. I can't wait to see this block naturally! 9.5/10.

Light Block - Not sure if it's necessary but a welcome addition for certain builds for mapmakers. 7/10.
