Minecraft: A List of my Unpopular Opinions
The phantom isn't such a bad mob. It's no worse than skeletons or zombies.
The 1.9 combat mechanics aren't so bad, they add a lot of strategy and make combat more immersive than just spam-clicking.
Certain enchantments are ridiculously overpowered and unbalanced. Enchanting in general needs a total rework.
Beacons are in no way worth investing in, they're a complete joke, as is every part of the quest to obtain one.
The Ender Dragon fight is harder than the Wither. At least, on Java.
The Ender Dragon fight... kinda sucks. Most of the time is spent waiting. It's a very long and boring fight. It feels very half-baked.
Creepers are way too overpowered - especially when they can drop on you from above. But Mojang will never change this as they're way too iconic.
The Hoglin is one of my least favourite mobs in Minecraft.
Using the Totem of Undying in Hardcore is kinda cheating.
Glazed terracotta is actually really awesome.
Hostile mobs spawn at far too high of a light level. They should spawn at light level 4 or 5, not 7.
Tridents are not worth the grind and should be massively buffed (the combat snapshots have helped with this to a degree).
I have never once actually used the crossbow in survival.
The new 1.16 nether music is better than the old.
Ruined Portals offer way too good loot for basically doing nothing other than finding them. They should not have gold blocks or golden apples in their chests.
I don't think the End needs a massive update - trees and stuff in the End would really take away from the barrenness of the End, which is meant to be at the very end of space and time. However, the End could do with a new mob or new ore.
There should not be any new dimensions. At least, not yet.
The Villager/Librarian exploit is honestly game-breaking and needs to be fixed immediately.
1.11 is a seriously underrated and overlooked update - it added the totem, the shulker box, and the concept of illagers.
Many complained about the fact only 4 biomes were added to the Nether in 1.16 - I think 4 was the perfect amount.
Totems should not be farmable and should not be obtainable in raids.
For a game where "mine" is half the title, there are far too few ores.
