The 12 Most DANGEROUS Places in Minecraft

If you're trying to escape the dangers of planet Earth in post-2019, Minecraft Survival may not be the place to go. Between exploding plant monsters, surface lava and literal hell itself, the world of Minecraft is far from safe. There is no fast-mutating killer virus that is more catching than a cold, but there are undead bone men who should have an Olympic gold platinum diamond medal in archery. If it's safety you want, let's explore the places in your Minecraft world you should probably NOT go, especially unprepared. 12 - Outside at Night This one is a given. The Overworld once the sun falls is certainly not a safe place to be, being absolutely surrounded by hostile mobs of various types. What makes this so much more apparent than others much higher on the list is how early-game this is encountered. You will find yourself outside at night within the first TEN minutes, leaving you very unprepared and vulnerable. However, being outside at night is this low on the list becau...

Deep Dark Speculation!

Ah yes, the mysterious Deep Dark biome.  ...wait.... is biome the right word? Do we know that the deep dark is going to be a biome? Or is it some sort of new dimension? Is the Deep Dark what has truly lain beneath the bedrock all this time? In this post, I am going to discuss some possibilities of where the Deep Dark could fit into Minecraft, and then at the end give an idea that I think would be really cool. In Minecraft Live 2020, it was stated that the Deep Dark was the "lowest point of a Minecraft world". But if you look at the clips of the improved cave generation that were shown at Minecon Live 2020, you have to wonder how this could fit into the underground. We see a clip of Agnes sailing on a boat down a waterfall, seemingly starting at the surface. She sails down approximately 10-15 blocks before falling down a waterfall that appears to be around 25-30 blocks. She then lands in a sump that, by my count, is another 15 blocks deep. Even if you take my lower estimates,...

Is Minecraft "Too Easy"?

In the age of a wide array of potions, a massive selection of enchantments, a farmable artifact that cheats death itself, a tier better than diamond, and literal flight, survival Minecraft now is starkly different from the days where even a spider couldn't be outsprinted. Many beta players who play the modern versions of the game are often seen asking: "Where did all the challenge and fear go? Minecraft is so easy now!" It has to be said, surviving the night is easier now than it has ever been. Although I started in 2012 myself, I have used the launcher to roll back to beta and even alpha versions, and sure enough, I found myself often very defenseless against mobs that I came to know as basic. Not being able to sprint definitely made things much harder. I basically had to resort to digging myself underground and waiting for the sun to rise before I could continue exploring. Being stripped of the ability to sprint was tough to get used to - it made the whole game experie...

The Mob Vote 2020 was a total mess. Here's why.

Because the mob vote of 2017 was so well received (sarcasm punctuation mark needed), Mojang decided to do another one in the wonderful delightful (s) year of 2020. What could possibly go wrong? (s) There were so many problems with that mob vote. Where do I even begin? 1. Not Original. Firstly, none of the three mobs to choose between were original mobs. All of them were ripped taken from Minecraft spin-off games. The Moobloom and the Glow Squid hailing from Minecraft Earth (F in the chat please), and the Iceologer representing Dungeons. All these mobs are pretty simple, so you have to wonder why they're not just going to add all three. All these mobs by design are essentially reskins of pre-existing mobs anyway. Also, if they were trying to make it seem like the players get to influence the game some, I don't see why they did it this way. Mojang already take in more feedback from the fans than any other game I've ever known. These votes just serve to divide and are asking ...

Minecraft's Annoying Trend of "Tank" Enemies

To fill a new niche with challenge, Mojang want to add a new, tough enemy into Minecraft.  What's the simplest, easiest, and dare I say, laziest, way to do that? A tank enemy. I define a tank enemy in Minecraft as a hostile mob with lots of health and attack damage, but can only do melee damage. Before quite recently, the only real tank mob was the Iron Golem. All enemies had different attributes that varied their combat style. Zombies were the simple melee enemy; skeletons used ranged attacks; spiders were nimble and creepers harness the power of TNT itself. Of course there's other melee enemies such as silverfish, but they aren't meant to be super threatening. Think about enemies like the Enderman. They literally TELEPORT. Other really awesome enemies include the Guardian, Evoker and Shulker. These enemies are some of my favourites. They not only have incredibly unique and original designs, but they are really fun and legitimately challenging to fight. The Guardian utilis...
